Our founders, Bishop Oscar & Mrs. Diane Lewis, have provided community services for over thirty years. “When people are losing their jobs or looking at pay cuts, and food prices are increasing, as Christians, we don’t want to see any child go hungry said Bishop Oscar Lewis Sr. “Christians are to be the crutch they can lean on to help them along.”
Since opening in 2015 as a small neighborhood pantry serving 30 families, what was initially called Feeding Hope Pantry has grown into Riviera Beach’s most innovative emergency food pantry, offering meals and support services to nearly 100,000 individuals. Now known as Feeding Hope Village, we have undertaken a multitude of new initiatives, i.e. (homeless prevention and transitional housing) that help make a difference in the lives of our clients.
While the programs have expanded and changed over the past year, our mission to reduce hunger and promote dignity and self-sufficiency has remained constant. In addition, the Common Pantry’s commitment to innovation and collaboration to better serve the community’s needs has defined its unique standing among other food programs in Riviera Beach.
