ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The Girls Chat Conference is for young girls in middle and high school. The Girls Chat Conference is designed to help young girls identify, understand, and flex their leadership muscle within their respective spaces and beyond.
The conference will focus on building the attendees self-awareness, social skills, and academic success. The conference creates a culture that is focused on proactively counteracting race inequities by providing workshops on racial equity and awareness. The Girls Chat Conference will plant a seed of confidence within the young female participants to be or become a leader, thinker, advocate…a champion for self and other girls.
PLEASE NOTE: The girls will receive four (4) Community Service Hours for attending.

The conference will include topics of Public Speaking, Effective Networking and Self-advocacy, Career Exploration and Goal Setting. The attendees will have an opportunity to hear from and/or meet inspiring female community leaders and speakers in a wide range of fields will be integrated into the Girls Chat Conference.
EVENT KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Skylar J. Anthony is a Spring 2022 graduate of Howard University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Media, Television and Film with a double minor in Political Science and Photography. During the summer of 2021 she interned on the Showtime Series Billions in New York. While at Howard she was involved with a various organizations and held numerous positions. She was the Assistant Executive Producer for a YouTube series under Howard University's Spotlight Television Network titled Yard Talk, held the positions of Second Vice President, Treasurer and Historian of the Howard University Florida Club; Journalist of the Delta Phi Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority Inc. and is a Spring 2022 initiate of the Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Skylar is enthusiastic about many things, but the idea of highlighting African Americans living their everyday mundane life has always been a goal of hers. She believes that as a people, African Americans are more than their struggles and setbacks, and that is what she wants to portray in her work. She has two passions in life, Anime, and Horror. Her ultimate life goal is to one day own her own movie studio and create either Horror movies or Japanese Anime for people of color so that one day little Black boys and girls can see themselves and places they normally would not.
