More than 1 in 5 women in the United States experienced a mental health condition in the past year, such as depression or anxiety. Many mental health conditions, such as depression and bipolar disorder, affect more women than men or affect women in diverse ways from men.

Hey Sistas” is a women’s support group for women of color to focus on health, wellness, and mental health awareness. The group will participate in fitness activities, as well as hear from expert guest speakers on health-related topics.

Through the support of this program, women will work together to develop their leadership skills and find their voice to positively advocate for issues relate to women’s physical and mental health. The “Hey Sistas” program will address these top questions:

• How do I know if I have a mental health condition?
• How can I have a healthy body image?
• How do eating disorders affect a woman’s health?

Our “Hey Sistas” program will answer these questions for our program participants and help our women address them and improve their way of life.

The Launch Party will introduce the Hey Sistas program and provide speakers in the mental health field. Light appetizers will be served. Attendees will also receive a professional headshot. Note: A professional make-up artist will be on site for lite touch-ups only.

She has made it her life’s work to break generational cycles of trauma through Prevention, Youth Mentoring, as a Professional Counselor, Program Director, Educator, and Writer.

Director of Human Resources at a local upscale Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Lisa is an advocate for mental health. She is currently the Member and Vice President of NAMI Palm Beach County’s Board. Lisa has been involved in her community for nearly two decades, as a youth mentor, feeding and providing clothing to the homeless, ministering at the prisons, youth detention center, street ministry, etc.

Senior Director of Healthier Delray Beach, a Palm Health Foundation initiative. Kenya has focused keenly on erasing the stigma of mental illness and providing support to children, youth, and families, Kenya is a pioneer, creating new channels for people to get the help they need in community-based settings—our schools and the faith community. She is a leader in integrating the topic of mental health in the faith community, and a strong advocate for equitable standards of care for the community.
