RECAP ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Rhonda’s Promise, Inc. Girls Chat Conference 3.0 at the Aloft Hotel Delray Beach was held on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

The conference theme was “Elevating our Girls to Learn, Implement and Excel”. This Teen Conference is designed to help young girls identify, understand, and flex their leadership muscles within their respective spaces and beyond.

The conference workshops focused on building the attendees’ self-awareness, social skills, and academic success. The conference created a culture that focused on Modern Etiquette, building self-esteem, healthy relationships, setting goals, leading meaningful change and using intelligence in an AI World.

Rhonda’s Promise believes that “Empowerment” is the key to impacting social change and building leadership. The Girls Chat Conference plants a seed of confidence within the young female participants to be or become a leader, thinker, advocate…a champion for self and other girls.

The conference attendees had an opportunity to hear Lovely Sheridan. Ms. Sheridan is an award-winning educator and mental health advocate. She is the founder of Buddy Ambassadors. The girls were treated to a delicious breakfast, Christmas gifts from Digital Vibez and a 360 Photo Booth by vendor YB Photo Booths. The girls received four (4) Community Service Hours for attending and participating.

The Girls Chat Conference 3.0 is offering an opportunity to deepen the impact on the young women after the conference by providing monthly educational leadership sessions and mentoring on the topics introduced during the conference.

January 29, 2025 @ 6pm - Sonya Pressley (Using Intelligence in an AI World) You will know how to research & determine real versus fake data and learn how to use AI in career exploration. The learning objective and goal of this workshop is to: (1) Discern the quality & digital source of information (2) Learn to safely use AI (3) Stimulate creativity & teamwork
February 26, 2025 @ 6pm - Kytana Phillips (The Power of You: How Young Women Can Lead Meaningful Change) In this workshop, I will speak about my personal experience with community outreach and how I took a nontraditional path to finding a career. Students will engage in a small group activity writing encouraging notes to the Unhoused.
March 26, 2025 @ 6pm - Nitza Jimenez (Healthy Relationships) Students will be able to identify how they want to be treated by a dating partner and/or friend. They will review the signs of a healthy and unhealthy relationships. Students will be able to act out communication skills demonstrations and observe one another to offer advice and apply the skilled learned in the lesson.
April 23, 2025 @ 6pm - Dr. LaToya Benjamin (Failing Forward) Many students are afraid of failure and/or run from it. In this workshop, I will explore the idea of failing forward and share strategies for leveraging it to their advantage. Students will walk away with a journal with examples of failures from their personal lives, and what they’ve learned from it. I will also provide tools for reframing failures as learning opportunities, setting goals, and incorporating positive self-talk into their daily routines.
May 28, 2025 @ 6pm - Martine Pierre-Paul (A Cut Above - Modern Etiquette for Practical Living) This is a dynamic workshop designed specifically for teen girls. This session empowers young women with essential life skills and etiquette skills tailored for today's competitive world. Participants will learn practical, everyday etiquette for social gatherings, professional settings and digital communication ensuring they navigate life's situations with confidence and grace. Join us to refine your manners, boost your self assurance and become truly "a cut above".
