HOPE Academy
This is a community based mentoring program for girls in elementary and middle school. The program will focus on building the mentees' self-awareness, social skills and academic success. The program will create a culture that is focused on proactively counteracting race inequities by providing workshops on racial equity and awareness. Annually, we will host a Girls Chat Conference for middle school and high school girls.
“Hey Sistas” – Women’s Support Group
This is a women’s support group/club for women of color to focus on health, wellness and mental health awareness. The group will participate in fitness activities as well as hear from expert guest speakers on health related topics. Through the support of this program, the women will work together to develop their leadership skills and find their voice in order to positively advocate for issues relate to women’s physical and mental health. Annually, we will host a women’s empowerment conference as an end of the year celebration. This is an opportunity to reach more women. The members of “Hey Sistas” will serve as the conference organizers and conference speakers.
Aging Gracefully
This program will provide senior women 62 and older with workshops on health related issues, financial literacy and budgeting, computer classes and a fitness component. The seniors will serve as mentors for the HOPE Academy participants.
